What ArtStory keeps
ArtStory creates an anonymous account so you can use the product without a sign-up form. Your saved works, credit balance, generated readings, and follow-up questions are stored in Supabase so the experience can work when you return on the same browser.
Artwork photos and AI
When you scan an artwork, the image and your request are sent through an ArtStory server function to OpenAI to generate the reading. ArtStory does not persist the uploaded photo as part of a direct scan, but it does store the generated reading and basic request metadata such as file type and size. If you choose Save to My Works, a browser-sized copy can be stored with your collection. Catalog image URLs may be stored when you save an open-collection work.
Analytics and abuse protection
ArtStory uses Vercel Web Analytics to understand anonymous page and product usage without third-party advertising cookies. Technical request data such as IP address and user agent may be processed for rate limiting, reliability, and abuse prevention. The interface loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, so your browser also makes a standard asset request to Google when the page opens.
Your choices
You can remove works from My Works in the app. Because the account is anonymous, ArtStory does not promise that your collection will follow you across browsers or devices. Do not upload sensitive personal images; ArtStory is designed for photographs of art.
Retention and deletion
Removing a work deletes it from My Works, but ArtStory does not yet offer a self-service way to delete every generated reading, follow-up, and anonymous account record. Those records may remain in the service until routine maintenance removes them. ArtStory also does not yet maintain a dedicated private privacy-request channel. Do not put personal or sensitive information into the product or a public launch comment.
